Jake Seal, businessman, filmmaker, technologist and innovator, is the owner and founder of the ORWO family of companies, which includes ORWO Studios, a unique studio located in the heart of Louisiana in a serene, tranquil setting. Offering a carefully crafted creative environment, ORWO Studios is the ideal destination for movie and television production: it is quiet and has a focused ambiance, along with excellent transport links, including a private airport right next door.

ORWO Studios is credited with producing films including Free State of Jones, The Magnificent Seven and The Maze Runner and producing and financing titles including Blaze, Jeepers Creepers: Reborn, Back Roads, Grand Isle, The System, Willy’s Wonderland and the television series Salvage Marines.

The studio offers set support on all stages, camera equipment rental, an in-house crew, transport, 3D stereo, VR services, heavy drones, 3D printing and scanning, costume and props rental, storage and more. ORWO Studios provides a range of shooting-ready standing sets in styles from an outlaw county treehouse to an authentic American café diner. Regarding post-production services, the studio’s unique production workflow allows the team to edit as they shoot, with footage processed on set, in real time, with everything backed up daily to LTO7.

ORWO Studios benefits from three different sized sound stages (all of which feature 100A 3-phase power, full lighting grids, drive-in access, Wi-Fi and playback) as well as 30 shooting locations of all shapes and sizes, both on and off the site. Meanwhile, the CGI and VFX labs incorporate an industry-class production pipeline and render farm and local and international talent, and the studio can provide review in London, Los Angeles and many European cities.

Jake’s career has been shaped by his passion for his craft and his innovative thinking, and his expertise encompasses a wide range of technologies and techniques. A prominent figure in the entertainment industry, and widely regarded as a trailblazer, Jake has made a significant contribution to his field and has been responsible for numerous technological world firsts, including some of the very first conversions of 2D to 3D film. His experience and vast knowledge have made him a highly sought-after speaker and educator, and he has delivered masterclasses and lectures at esteemed establishments worldwide, including CERN in Switzerland.

Jake is married and has one daughter and three sons with wife Jodie Seal, a former Miss Australia. He originally hails from London but has also resided in Germany and Hong Kong, and he considers himself a global citizen; since 2015 his primary base has been Louisiana.
